SimSuite Installation Completed at Gulf Aviation Academy in Bahrain
Posted on January 28, 2021
Metacraft has completed installation of the SimSuite Air Traffic Control Training and Simulation Platform at the Gulf Aviation Academy in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The system includes a high-fidelity multi-channel visual tower simulation lab with a 180 degree field of view, enroute and terminal radar stations emulating real-world European and Middle Eastern radar systems, and a set of pseudo-pilot operator stations. All components are interconnected allowing multi-user, multi-position combined simulation scenarios, with a full-function voice-over-IP audio communications system.
The Gulf Aviation Academy (GAA) was in need of a more full-featured and flexible simulation system in order to effectively deliver their Air Traffic Control curriculum. GAA selected Metacraft's SimSuite platform due to the comprehensive feature set, ease of use, and low total cost of ownership. The SimSuite system installation was completed in late 2020 and has recently passed acceptance testing by the Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority.
"Metacraft is pleased to have the opportunity to support the Gulf Aviation Academy in their efforts to expand and enrich their ATC training capabilities. We look forward to developing a long-term working relationship with GAA and the Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority." — Ross Carlson, Metacraft Owner.

Metacraft has completed an installation of the SimSuite ATC training platform at the University of Alaska in Anchorage. The radar lab consists of an instructor station and multiple radar clusters, each with a radar position, a radar associate position, and a pseudo pilot position. Each cluster can operate independently, or multiple clusters can be joined together to enable multi-sector cooperative scenarios. The radar simulation system is deployed on custom consoles designed and built by the University of Alaska.
Metacraft worked closely with the UAA staff to develop and deploy a high-fidelity simulation of the ERAM EDST (Enroute Decision Support Tool) system to better prepare students for the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City.
More details on the project are available at the University of Alaska website.

Embry-Riddle Deploys Enhanced SimTarget
Posted on January 29, 2012
The latest version of SimTarget has been installed at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. The new version adds several new capabilities, most notably the aircraft presets database, which significantly reduces the time required to set up new training scenarios. The presets also make it very simple to add any type of aircraft to a scenario in progress, giving operators the ability to dynamically tailor the scenario to the student's proficiency level as the training session unfolds. The new preset target functionality was developed collaboratively with instructors on staff at Embry-Riddle, and is now available to all Metacraft SimSuite customers.
